Clarke see's red as the Stags fall to another defeat at the hands of Bradford City, with the Bantams doing the double over the Stags this season.
The Stags nearly had the perfect start after 3 minutes after some good footwork by youngster Jason Law but his curled attempt hit the inside of the post but bounce back out and was put behind for a corner.
Clough was forced into a change on 20 minutes after a Cooke effort was stabbed wide but George Maris went down just inside the box and was replaced by Harry Charsley.
The deadlock was broken in the 32nd minute, slightly against the run of paly but the ever dangerous Danny Rowe was the provider for the Bantams. Niall Canavan headed the ball back goal from a Elliot Watt free kick and Rowe pounced unmarked to place past Stone.
Jordan Bowery nearly had an instant reply but an Anthony O'Connor block was enough to stop the Stags pulling the game back.
Substitute Harry Charsley had the ball in the net after a Jordan Bowery through ball but the linesman was quick to raise his flag and the Stags went into the break behind.
After the break Bradford had an appeal for a penalty turned down straight away by the referee and Wood was booked for simulation.
Just on the hour mark Stephen Quinn fired a first time shot towards goal but Bantams custodian Hornby gathered easily.
90th minute up and the Stags missed another golden opportunity as Ollie Clarke headed just wide from a Jason Law corner.
The red mist then descended as Ollie Clarke battled for the ball on the touch line and caught Connor Wood and Wood hit the deck and referee Paul Howard pulled out the red card for the Stags skipper.
The Stags are back in action Saturday as they travel to Cumbria and Holker Street to take on Barrow.
