The Stephen show rains on Port Vales parade as Nigel Cloughs men finished the season with a bang with a dominant performance at Vale Park to end what feels like the longest ever Sky Bet League Two season with 4 wins in the last 5 games.

The Stags went into the game on the back of brilliant 4-1 win against Oldham Athletic at Field Mill a week ago.
Stags' boss Nigel Clough has made three changes to the side that beat Oldham for this afternoon's final game of the season against Port Vale.
There was a change between the posts as Jamie Pardington replaces Aidan Stone.
Right-back James Clarke comes into the side for Kellan Gordon. Skipper Ollie Clarke returns to the line-up ahead of Keaton Ward and Jordan Bowery starts up top ahead of Jamie Reid.
Stephen McLaughlin opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a smartly drilled finish through a crowd of Vale defenders and into the bottom corner of the net.
The lead was then doubled by Stephen Quinn who finished off George Lapslie’s fantastic run down the right-hand side with aplomb.
McLaughlin added his second with a sweet free-kick just after the hour mark to secure the Stags’ biggest away win of the season.
Cloughs men finish an overall forgettable season for many reasons in 16th place.
With the new season being highly anticipated by everyone at the club, the retained list should be released shortly and Nigel Clough recently aiming for promotion, the 2021/22 season is going to be one we watch very closely and The Manc Stag will be there every step of the way.
